Dr. Cotton received an undergraduate degree in biophysics from U.C. Berkeley, then spent the next four years at Georgetown Dental School in Washington, D.C. After graduation, Dr. Cotton returned to California to advance his training as a General Practice Resident at Highland Hospital in Oakland.
Dr. Cotton grew up in Lafayette, California. During his high school years, he developed a love for many outdoor activities – particularly skiing and hiking, which contributed to helping him earn the highest Boy Scout rank of Eagle Scout.
Dr. Cotton and his wife, Amy, have enjoyed being a part of the Stockton Community for over twenty six years. They have both been involved in numerous activities to support their three children.
While maintaining his practice, Dr. Cotton has volunteered at the County Hospital in the Dental Clinic, as well as conducting Head Start screenings in the local schools. He is a past member of the Rotary Club, and enjoys membership in the Cal Alumni Club.
Dr. Cotton continues to enjoy outside interests, such as skiing and bike riding. About eight years ago, Dr. Cotton renewed his interest in the sport of rowing (he was a member of the Men’s Crew Team while at U.C. Berkeley), and became involved in the Stockton Rowing Club. A rewarding aspect of this commitment has been his coaching position with the high school team for the past eight years.
Dr. Cotton’s utmost concern during his years of practice has always been to give the patient the best care possible. He achieves this by successfully communicating with patient and staff, administering the highest quality of care, and creating an office atmosphere that is relaxed and professional.
